Trend Report: Animal Print Takeover, how we will be wearing this seasons biggest trend!

Whether you opt for a subtle printed scarf, statement shoe or high impact jacket, animal print is a key trend to work into your wardrobe  as it’s quite clearly the ‘Leader’ of the Autumn Winter fashion trends this year. To help you embrace your inner animal we thought we would share with you a few pointers and tips on how to wear it with style.

When wearing animal print you can either let the print do the talking as the statement piece of  your outfit or you can choose to keep it  more understated with just a few highlights. The decision is all yours, there is no wrong or right way to work it. It just depends on what you feel more comfortable in, bold and beautiful or subtly chic!

Already we have had loads of amazing animal motif pieces arrive (with more yet to come) and one of our favourite brands that is getting the trend spot on for us is Becksondergaard.  With a gorgeous array of colours, prints and fabrics ranging from sophisticated silk scarves to bold, bright wool and silk blends there is something for everyone in the AW13 collection. Check out just a few of our favourite prints below…

Beautiful, bold designs from Danish brand Becksondergaard!

Accessories are a fantastic way to incorporate print into your wardrobe if you don’t like to be too daring and don’t want something full on, a little hint of print goes along way we say!

E Wooly Cat Scarf in French Kiss £69

One of our favourites from the new collection is this fabulous E Wooly Cat Scarf in French Kiss. Made from a soft Wool and Silk blend it is super cosy and it’s quirky cat head motif is a great alternative to your more traditional Leopard or Zebra prints you see more regularly – ideal if you are looking for something a bit different from everyone else.

Another really easy way to work print into your everyday wardrobe is to wear textured or printed shoes. Something as simple as a snakeskin pair of leather ankle boots or a bold printed pump, like these Melissa Flocked Buckle shoes in Smoke will transform your look.

We think Amy looks fab in her Melissa pumps worn with the Maison Scotch 2 in 1 Grandad Leopard top. She has styled them with a wrist full of stunning Tokyo Jane bangles and one of the gorgeous Black & Brown bags that have just arrived ( but there is more about them below.) Don’t be afraid to mix and match your prints, it’s funky, fun and it works!

Paul & Joe Sister is another brand that have always produced cute and quirky animal prints. Rather than using texture or patterns this season they have used images of animals in there designs which looks really striking. These are a few of our favourites but we have to admit we would probably just take the whole collection home if we could, it’s that good!! You can see what other gorgeous pieces they have on our website… Click here!

Now its getting a bit cooler we all need a few cosy knits to keep us a snug. Virginie Castaway and Ba&Sh have combined warm knitwear with the animal print trend perfectly. We are in love with these jumper dresses and tops, they are super soft and luxurious. They feel amazing to wear and are ideal for keeping you fashionably warm on those chilly Winter days.

This Virginie Castaway Leopard knit with hints of mint green is one of our ‘must haves’ this season. It’s relaxed and slouchy fit makes it ideal for off duty dressing. Amy has teamed hers with the Ash Bowie Trainers and Chlobo Cloud 9 jewels, stunning outfit Amy!

So, those bags we spoke of!…..another ideal way to inject some animal print into your wardrobe.  These Black & Brown bags make a real statement and are definitely at the top of our lust list! Their metallic snakeskin designs stand out and the detachable shoulder chains mean that you can wear them both as a clutch or shoulder bag – two bags in one we say!
